My first real post. Why I am writing, what to expect, and how this blog will work.
Every blog starts with a post like this one. I will keep it short.
I am João, a backend developer working mostly with TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS. I have been working with AI for a good while, not as a product, but as a daily work tool. I have opinions about how to use it right, and about how not to use it.
Why write
Because I pile up notes, internal threads, and architecture decisions that end up buried in private repos or in my own head. I have helped entire teams with setups I learned the hard way. It makes sense to put that somewhere people can actually reach.
This will not be a step-by-step tutorial blog. It will be more about technical opinions, real project decisions, and things I learned by getting them wrong first.
What to expect

- AI applied for real: setup, tools, how I fold it into my day without becoming a hostage to the hype
- Backend and infrastructure: patterns that work, and the ones that promise but do not deliver
- Open source: things I have built and why they exist
No promises on frequency. I post when I have something worth posting.
